Welcome to the USS Hecate!

Praxis changed everything
With the signing of the Khitomer Accords, the United Federation of Planets and her greatest adversary, the Klingon Empire, found themselves in an uneasy peace.
In the two years since the signing of the Accords the Federation Council has tasked Starfleet Command with revamping the Beta Quadrant Exploration program. The USS Hecate, one of the first Excelsior Refit vessels in the fleet will embark on a five year exploration mission beyond the Klingon and Romulan Empires. Penetrating the furthest reaches of the Beta Quadrant, her name is destined to be drawn in the same breath as Excelsior, Enterprise and other storied ships of Starfleet’s history.
Take a look around. If you like what you see, fill out an application form. Should you not see a position you want on the manifest, please contact us.
On behalf of the staff and crew of the USS Hecate, welcome! Join us and discover the Federation’s Golden Age!

Crew!
The Hecate is slowly coming out of her hibernation.
With work now calming down, I'll slowly be getting to grips with moving the Hecate along this week.
The aim is to get Shakedown finished before the end of the year so we can begin 2025 by getting our exploratory voyage well under way.
Please keep an eye out for tags and updates!

Crew!
It's a little early here, but I wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year.
I'd also like to thank you on making 2023 a very successful year for the Hecate.
This sim is an idea I'd been working on for a while before committing it to paper so to speak, and I'm gratified and humbled that you'd all contribute your considerable talents to getting her off the ground.
Here's to 2024 and another successful year for the Hecate!

Crew!
My sincere thanks on a job well-done in September.
You hard work earned the Hecate the Silver Unit of Distinction for the month.
Our XO, Khiane Mau, written by StarGeek, earned the Writer of the Month award.
The Hecate also earned an Award of Merit for September for 23-C.
In the quarterly awards we also earned CO of the Quarter too - an award reflective of the good work of the crew!
Here's to many more in the coming years!

Mission: EPISODE 1: SHAKEDOWN

He turned and tapped the bar, grabbing the attention of the barkeep. "How 'bout a couple of Gator Bites--one for me and my friend here."
The bartender nodded and turned away to prepare their shots.
"Anyway," Gideon said, sliding his empty ale glass across the bartop. "You did what you had to, what fate put in your lap. You got out, you got a life, you got... a chance to be somethin' better. That counts for more'n all the money your old man ever wanted. Right?"
"I know." Vincent replied, almost half hearted, as he looked back towards the crowd.…

[And now the Continuation ...]
The Klingon women exchanged sidelong looks with each other as though Gideon himself were some invisible entity between them. Ursana took a long pull from her goblet of blood wine and tilted her head slightly, as if appraising him. "Gideon," she said, repeating his name half in curiosity, half in disgust. "Son of whom?"
Gideon's eyes widened. He hadn't expected to be asked that question, especially since he had never known his father. An inquiry from anyone else might've seemed normal and everyday to the man from Louisiana, but a species that prided itself…

About time, Burke thought irritably as the the Klingon straightened and flourished a baton. Calling out in guttural, grinding English, 'The Imperial Seneschal bids our ... guests of honour, be welcome and enter the feasting chamber. As honoured warriors in the struggle for Qo'noS it is right we accord you place at our high table.'
Burke couldn't work out whether or not the Klingon was struggling with the sentiment or the words such were the pauses in his speech. Advancing, Burke replied. 'On behalf of the Starship Hecate and her ... warriors, I, Captain Burke accept the high honour…

Kyra sat placidly in the jump seat she had ‘claimed’ for the duration of the journey to Pinnacle Station. No doubt this was Lantree’s Quartermaster’s doing; Petty revenge for her breaking up his side-job as a low-level illegal tribble dealer. She muttered under her breath as the cargo transport vessel shuddered and bucked…AGAIN, and the inertial dampeners kicked in a moment too late to be of any meaningful help. Spirits, but she was sore after days of this.
The pilot suddenly called out over his shoulder to the only passenger on their shuttle.
“Oy! We’re comin’ out of warp…

Mission: Tales of the Twenty-Third Century

Shanice Winters was one of the last in her class to walk the graduation stage. The ceremony was finally over, and the young people who were Cadets an hour ago, were now officially Ensigns. Walking over to her parents in the crowd, Shanice had the biggest grin on her face. Four long years which seemed to fly by now that she thought about it.
Captain Abraham Winters and Lt. Commander Janet Winters smiled at their daughter who was making her way towards them. The two had almost missed the graduation due to the USS Stanford having to intercept a Tzenkethi…
